Clear PPF full roll prepared for professional wet installation

Clear PPF Thickness Guide: 6.5 vs 7.5 vs 8.5 vs 10 mil

Choosing a Clear PPF full roll starts with two separate decisions: the finish you want and the nominal thickness listed for the exact product. Prime Wraps supplies Clear PPF as a 1.52 m × 15 m full roll for professional wet installation.

Clear PPF thickness comparison

Nominal thickness Available finish What to confirm
6.5 mil Clear Gloss The lowest nominal thickness in the current Clear Gloss range.
7.5 mil Clear Gloss or Matte/Satin Clear The only thickness currently offered in both Clear Gloss and Matte/Satin Clear.
8.5 mil Clear Gloss A greater nominal film thickness than the 6.5 and 7.5 mil options.
10 mil Clear Gloss The greatest nominal thickness in the current Clear Gloss range.

Nominal thickness is one part of product selection. It does not replace the current product data sheet, substrate review, installer process or inspection of the labelled roll.

Matte and satin availability

Matte/Satin Clear is available only in 7.5 mil. Choose it when the required finish is matte or satin rather than gloss, then confirm the finish shown on the product and roll label before cutting.

Professional wet installation

Clear PPF requires professional wet installation. The installer should confirm surface condition, cleaning, solution control, alignment, edge handling and post-install inspection for the exact film and vehicle.

Before ordering a full roll

  • Confirm Clear Gloss or Matte/Satin Clear.
  • Confirm the nominal thickness.
  • Confirm the 1.52 m × 15 m full-roll format.
  • Check the product title, selected option and roll label before cutting or installation.

Compare all Clear PPF options, view the Clear Gloss product, or view the Matte/Satin Clear product.
